Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes

There are a number of brick shrines in the church of the Nativity of Mary and St Martin in Strzelce. Three of them, dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes, the Good Shepherd and St Giles, recently underwent renovation. Each shrine is covered with a double-pitched roof with pinnacles flanking a cross on two frontal edges.

The shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes can be found on the left side of the church, next to the shrine of the Good Shepherd. The statue in the shrine depicts the Virgin Mary in white and blue robes, with hands folded in prayer and her eyes looking up. As is a typical depiction of the Holy Mother, she has a rosary hung on her right hand. The statue stands on a plinth shaped like a stone entwined with flowers. Below the statue, there is an alcove with a burial plaque.
