The origins of the church in Ligota Książęca go back to the 16th century. The current church was built in 1844. Destroyed in World War II, it was eventually rebuilt in the years 1956–57. The reconstruction ended with the consecration of the church and the uncovering of the painting of Our Lady of Otyń, which came to Ligota in 1945 with people repatriated from the East. In 1997, the painting was crowned, and the church was promoted to sanctuary. On the premises of the church, there are a number of grottos with statues of the Holy Mother. There is also a penance cross nearby.
